Happy New Year!
We wish you all in 2009: simple and prosperous paths of sustainability in all things….Our Winter Term begins on January 12th.
We are particularly excited about this year as it marks the 50-year anniversary of Butoh. We plan to celebrate throughout 2009, honoring the origins of Japanese Butoh and its passage and evolutions throughout the west.
We have begun by launching two new websites. (Thanks to the snow in Portland).

We also have some great programming on the line-up, including a 5 week intensive learning Pendet (a form of Balinese-Ritual Dance), and an American Butoh Immersive; as well as a Winter Term schedule of ongoing weekly classes and laboratories.
…..Coming this spring, we are proud to be hosting Natsu Nakajima–a female artist who has been a primal force in Butoh since the 1960′s; working with both of the founders, Tatsumi Hijikata & Kazuo Ohno. We look forward to seeing you at the Headwaters….
