Mizu Desierto, Bodies of Water

Summer Series

Slowing down time into a microscopic awareness of one’s cells, tissues and organs, we are moved by bodies of water — contained by our own unique relationship to weight, gravity, fluidity, adaptivity and the planet we stand upon. Through the receptive body emerges a pathway of imagery and natural response between the unconscious, intuitive and elemental. This is the source from which we can create our own intelligent and healing movements in the world and on the stage. Open to movers of all bodies, all ages, and all abilities.

This class runs for 7 weeks, May 20th - July 1

Lital Firestone & Mizu Desierto, Deviant Bodies

Summer Series

Ongoing FREE online space for self-identifying transgender and gender non-conforming folks to develop storytelling skills through movement, drag, improvisation, magic and delirium. Together we have been exploring how performance art can undo the assimilation our bodies have learned from years of heteronormative, white, capitalistic systems. We plan to continue this series until further notice. Each week we use a different theme (e.g. privilege, masculinity/femininity, boundaries) and rotating medium to expand our understandings of gender and effective community building.

Crystal Sasaki, Movement Feels

Summer Series

Inspired by Authentic Movement. Crystal facilitates this small group engagement as a somatic improvisation and sharing practice, encouraging us to connect with our emotional body, follow what comes, and see each other. Each mover is given solo time to be witnessed and reflected, there is conversation, there is moving together.
